Gail Vertz
Executive Director of AAGP

Gail has been involved in the grants industry for over 18 years. Currently, Gail is the Executive Director of AAGP (American Association of Grant Professionals). This is a national organization, with over 1,300 members, that specializes in enhancing the role of individuals in the grants profession. They have an annual conference, publish an Educational Journal twice per year, have an active listserv, are currently establishing a credentialing process for the grants industry and are forming local Chapters of AAGP.
Gail has also served as a grant reviewer for several federal agencies.
Until December of 2002, Gail was the Director of Grants for the Heart of America United Way in Kansas City, Missouri for five years. Prior to that, she was the Business Manager for the Wyandotte County Health Department in Kansas City, Kansas and was also the Grants Manager for the Wyandotte/Leavenworth Area Agency on Aging for ten years.
Gail also contracted as the National PTA’s Director of Grants for a one-year period. During that time, Gail wrote numerous grants, facilitated several grant writing workshops and developed the e-learning grant writing course now available on the National PTA website.
In her spare time, Gail remains very involved with PTA. She served on the National PTA Board of Directors. Gail served as the President of Kansas State PTA from April 2001 until April 2003. She has volunteered on the Kansas PTA Board of Managers for over 12 years. Currently, Gail is the President of Sumner Academy’s PTSA-where her youngest daughter is a student.
